I have a special friend I adore fellowshipping with. We live 2 hours away from each other, but we hold each other close in our hearts. Each of us drive halfway to meet the other so we can enjoy a time of coffee and meaningful conversation. We always cover various topics, but our favorite is about what the Lord is saying and doing in our lives. I treasure those times because it refreshes my soul and encourages me to walk closer in my relationship with Jesus, the Lover of my soul.
Friends are a true blessing from the Lord. I cannot imagine walking my journey without the companionship and help of others. God created us to need others, and in the body of Christ, we are called living stones that build the temple of God (1 Pet. 2:5). What a beautiful sight!
He has challenged me many times to truly look at the beauty in the people He has placed around me and to be thankful they are in my life. Each one brings special gifts and challenges me to grow in maturity and love. The Bible says that iron sharpens iron (Pr. 27:17) and that faithful are the wounds of a friend (Pr. 27:6).
Walking with other people at times can be daunting, but it encourages me to look at the places in my heart that need cleansing, to purge negative mindsets and to overcome besetting sins. I would like to encourage you to be thankful for others, honoring them and being a friend that encourages and spurs others to a deeper more intimate walk with Jesus.
Sometimes others find us; sometimes we find them, but it is God who directs our path. He always knows what we need at just the right time, and He is the most faithful friend of all.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I Thank You for divine friendship and individuals that I can walk together with. I ask that these relationships be filled with love, support and strength. Help me to receive from others the deposits that they bring into my life. Enable me to be a wise, giving and encouraging friend to others. I ask that You would guide me each day to those who need my friendship and fellowship, and that together, we will help one another grow and mature in our walk and relationship with You.
