When the winds are blowing all around me and I feel as if I am engulfed in dark rolling clouds, I have to reach for the truth that Jesus is right beside me. I have to remind myself that He will never leave me nor forsake me (Heb. 13:5). At times that really doesn't feel like reality, but He consistently reminds me things are not how they may look.
Oh, how true that is for faith! Faith is not based in what we see, but it is believing in what we cannot see. I call that an upside-down reality. In my upside-down reality, I have come to realize He is not only with me but constantly leaving me with comforting tokens of His love.
I love the word "serendipity," and I so enjoy the way He knows how to speak to me in my own unique love language. Some days He awakens me to the beauty all around me or focuses me on a wag of my little dog's tail as she sits with her big brown eyes focused on me. Other times it's a message in the top of an iced tea drink. One I especially enjoyed said "All you need is love." Oh yes, that was a reminder for sure!
What about the divine appointment when your friend calls at a critical time just to uplift you when you are overwhelmed in the midst of the battle? These are the type of tokens I hang onto and tuck in my heart. He tells us that each day has trouble of its own, and it's refreshing to know that in the midst of that trouble He is working for our good. He is holding our hand and whispering His love into our ears.
I had to giggle when I was looking up the meaning of the word "serendipity" in the dictionary. Serendipity means: an apparent aptitude for making accidental fortunate discoveries. As I was reading it, I just happened to glance at the word above. It was "serenade" which means: music played or sung at night by a lover under his sweetheart's window.
I see it all as part of His divine romance. He serenades us while we are uncovering wonderful discoveries that speak to us of Him. I believe that's also part of the truth that He does exceedingly above all we could ask or think (Eph. 3:20). WOW! Jesus' lover of my soul, my soul loves You!!

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being right beside me and for never leaving nor forsaking me (Heb. 13:5). Help me to be aware of the Serendipities You place in my life each day. Let me recognize the ways that You are turning all things around for my good (Rom. 8:28). Enable me to embrace and be aware of the Holy Spirit's prompting to reach out to others with love, kindness and support. Please bring me into the reality of Your beautiful presence and the enjoyment of walking in the light of Your goodness, faithfulness, love and forgiveness.
