I was contemplating what to write for this blog. So, I sat quietly for a few moments. It seems like lately I had been struggling with some old battles in my soul, and I was led to pray for Gods light to illuminate all darkness that may still be lingering in my soul. That brought back to my remembrance a time years ago when I received a fresh revelation of His light.
I was standing in a driver’s license office in a very long line. I was humming a simple praise song to the Lord very quietly, and suddenly, I felt the whole room get brighter. As I looked around, I blinked, thinking maybe it was my imagination, but it was not. The scripture came to me that as believers and followers of Christ Jesus that we are the light of the world. If Jesus is the light and He is in us, then we are a carrier of His light! (See Ephesians 5:8.) And light dispels darkness.
Having this revelation of Him in me has brought great hope and encouragement in my walk and healing to my mind and body. In addition, I have also encountered breakthrough for others by commanding light to come forth into their situations. When Jesus is in us our very presence can shift atmospheres and bring breakthrough to dark areas.
Another time, I was living in a region that was notorious for its darkness. I was walking through the streets and visiting some shops, and I heard the Holy Spirit say, It’s not so much what you do here (in terms of my idea of productivity), but because I need your presence here to shift the atmosphere and bring light.
The Lord is so good! In Him is light and no darkness (1 John 1:5), and as He is in the world so are we (1 John 4:17).
Remember the song, This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine? Well, I encourage you today to let your light shine for Him everywhere you go. Declare Gods light and watch things light up. (See Matthew 5:14.)
Remember, His word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). He is always with you, in all places. Let His light illuminate the understanding of His word in you so you can walk out of all defeat and into victory today!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are light and that there is no darkness in You (1 John 1:5). Help us to walk in the revelation truth that You are in us and that we are the light in this world (Matthew 5:14). Enable us to shine brightly for You and to not hide our light from others (Matthew 5:15). Let us embrace Philippians 2:15 and live clean innocent lives as children of God shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
