The other day a friend of my husbands stopped by. He had his phone in his hand and was sharing about a new bird app he had that identified birds by their sound. As he was standing in our yard it identified 16 types of birds that were audible within range. I was wonderfully surprised at the different varieties around me.
I love birds because they remind me of God’s love and protection. This event also led me to ponder about how great God is in providing His amazing care and love. There are numerous scriptures about the sparrow and birds of the air. Here are just a few:
- Matthew 10:29–31
- Matthew 6:25–34
- Psalm 84:3
- Luke 12:6–7
- Job 38:41
- Job 12:7–10
- Luke 12:7
- Psalm 147:9
- Genesis 1:20
- Psalm 50:11
We don’t have to look very far to see Gods beautiful tapestry of love that He has woven all around us Romans 1:20 states that His invisible qualities are clearly seen in creation, leaving people without excuse.
Psalm 19:1 (KJV): The heavens declares the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
So, whenever you are tempted to worry or get overwhelmed by everyday circumstances just stop and observe the beauty that He creates in nature. Take in the wonder and magnificence He provides. He created all of this for us to enjoy.
1 Timothy 6:17 (ESV) says: As for the rich in this present age, charge then not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
Remember that if He created the universe, He will certainly take care of us and the details of our everyday lives!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You that no detail or circumstances goes unnoticed or overlooked by You. You see everything and know us through and through; You even know the hairs on our head (see Matthew 10:30) and love us beyond what we can imagine. Help us to observe and find encouragement in the beauty of nature. Help us to trust You in the small and big things that are close to our hearts. Each time we see a beautiful bird, flower, mountain or sunset let it reminds of us of Your great care, love and provision. We acknowledge and praise You today as Elohim the creator of heaven and earth and El Roi the God who sees.
